With a history spanning over 175 years, there's no doubt that Carneros is one of Napa Valley’s most celebrated cool climate wine regions. Carneros first wine growing district and today home to over 30 wineries specializing in Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot and some of our Napa’s best sparkling wines. It is the stunning rolling hillsides, lush greenery, vast space and an enviable climate that led us to establish Laine Estates in 2016.
Laine Estates and our growers vineyards lie at the confluence of Carneros Creek and the Napa River. At high tide the river tastes of salt, a reminder of the sea’s proximity. Pacific wind brings fog and cooler temperatures to balance the intensity of the California sun, while clay and gravel soil provide ideal drainage.
It’s like Mother Nature can’t stop providing Carneros with nearly perfect growing seasons. 2017 & 2018 season started early with a mild winter and normal precipitation levels. Thanks to a relatively steady and mild summer and then a series of warm days at the end of the growing season, the vineyards were able to progress to perfect ripeness.
Laine Estates Elite Cru Los Carneros Chardonnay 2018
This chardonnay is from 36 year old vines. It’s a beautifully balanced wine that shows the freshness of the cool climate, with the kind of oak that works so well with chardonnay. 9 months in French oak (14% new) is integrated into a delightful Chardonnay focused on stone fruit, spice and floral notes. A wine with detail to contemplate, but very easy to simply enjoy.

Laine Estates Elite Cru Los Carneros Rosé of Pinot Noir 2017
Salmonberry in appearance and harnesses an expected complexity and savory undertone. It has a good punnet of crushed raspberries and some lively citrus, but the fruitiness is enhanced by lush vibes, clean minerality, and a faint tinge of strawberries and cream on the finish that’s as delectable as it is charming.
